Here at The Handsome Handyman Services we make a clear distinction between repair and improvement or home renovation. While we offer both Handyman Services and Home Improvement Services, we want you to better understand the basic difference:

House Maintenance or Handyman jobs = The immediate or timely repair to an existing construction element (roof, sink, floor, window, etc.) that was unplanned, or otherwise not anticipated. Often the element in need of repair is critical to either the health/safety of dwelling occupants, (a broken door or window that you can no longer secure at night), or if left in disrepair the element will allow or cause more property damage, (i.e. that broken window will also let in snow and rain causing further damage to the property.)

Home Improvement = The planned and anticipated replacement of construction elements that are currently functioning, and or the addition of completely new materials and building elements. Basically the opposite of an emergency repair.

When you look at all you projects through this filter you will understand why we make this distinction, and why the two types each require a different approach.

What makes us a good handyman is the experience and knowledge from multiple disciplines. Our process for diagnosing a problem and finding a solution has been developed over 15 years of working in and with multiple trades. When it comes to Handyman work, we like to think of it as what is known in the medical field as, “Triage”.  In other words, when we get a call to provide home repair services, more often than not the clients have concerns about costs, and we are there to help, “stop the bleeding!”

With a little creativity, and our years of experience in real estate and construction, a low cost but professional quality solution can usually be found to fit any problem and any budget.
